The Sharp Take ("we", "us", "the site") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to contact us about it.
What we collect
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records standard request logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's policy and are not used for tracking or profiling.
Privacy-respecting analytics. We use a cookieless analytics provider that records aggregated page views and referrer information. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising tracker.
Email signups. If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address with our email service provider for the sole purpose of sending the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
What we don't collect
- We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
- We do not run ad networks, retargeting pixels, or behavioral advertising.
- We do not require an account to read articles.
- We do not store payment information.
Cookies
The site does not set first-party tracking cookies. Embedded third-party content (e.g., a Polymarket market embed) may set its own cookies; those are governed by the third party's privacy policy, not ours.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (typically just an email address from a newsletter signup) by emailing hello@thesharptake.com. We respond within 30 days. Residents of the EU, UK, and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively; we honor those rights regardless of jurisdiction.
Children
The Sharp Take is intended for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
